Our Mission Statement:
Healthcare Inspired by Nature
At Flora Fauna, we strive to create a comfortable sanctuary that is an oasis for you to show up exactly as you are, whether it be serene as a swan or spicy as a fire-breathing dragon. You never need to apologize for being ‘in a mood’, having hairy legs or chipped toe nail polish.
This is a judgement-free, zen zone where the concept of TMI does not exist. Being a human can be messy and we are here to support you while you grow through whatever storm you’re weathering.

Our goal is to offer you the most relaxing healthcare experience you’ve ever had. The treatments at Flora Fauna are focused on integrating ancient wisdom into our modern lifestyles to help you live your best life.
For over 4,000 years the Chinese have based their medicine on a Tao-ist perspective of living in harmony with one’s natural environment with the aim of keeping all the aspects of a human (body, mind, spirit) in a state of harmony and balance. When this delicate balance is disrupted, dis-ease and illness occur.
Our modern lives are filled with over-indulgence, over-stimulation and an excess of information. We are busier than ever, stay indoors more, move less, and have more stress than ever before. Many of us operate out of a state of fight-or-flight and are not resting or digesting. Just like a delicate ecosystem, your external environment and life experiences (stressors, traumas) change your physiology and biological needs. As a team, we work together to find just what you need to thrive in YOUR environment instead of merely survive.
The name Flora Fauna is based off of the definition of:
The plants (flora) and wildlife (fauna) within an ecosystem

As humans, WE are the wildlife and at Flora Fauna we find ways for you to thrive in YOUR environment (home, career, relationships, environment, etc).

We provide you with the tools and knowledge to nurture YOUR (human) nature by eating the local flora (improving your diet) or using it as medicine (herbs/supplements).

Our treatments are personalized for each patient and are based around an examination of your ecosystem (health history, emotions, diet, work, and lifestyle). Our focus is to treat the root of your condition (cause) as well as the branches (symptoms). You are an individual, not a series of symptoms or a diagnosis.

As your health begins to improve and blossom, you will find that you are better equipped to deal with not only internal environment (within your mind and body) but the rest of the fauna in your ecosystem as well (family, kids, boss, partner, friends).

Kacie Hill
MTOM, Master of Traditional Oriental Medicine, Emperor's College
Kacie is a licensed acupuncturist and certified herbalist. She graduated with honors from Emperor’s College in Santa Monica, CA.
Growing up in rural Wisconsin, Kacie always had an interest in medicine and science. At age thirteen she decided she wanted to become a dermatologist and moved to California at eighteen years old. She enrolled in Esthetician school to provide herself with a mini-career to work her way through medical school.
Kacie spent nine years working at an organic spa and saw many clients who had used antibiotics or pharmaceuticals (like Accutane) to improve their skin. She saw the detrimental side effects associated with these medications (skin sensitivity, food allergies and poor gut health) and felt there had to be a better way. This prompted her to research holistic alternatives to heal the body from the inside out.
Kacie ended up taking an ‘Intro to Plant Medicine’ class during her undergraduate studies and fell in love with the idea of healing people by simply using nature. Through this class she learned about Chinese Medicine and fell in love with this ancient, holistic practice.
She completed her clinical externship at ‘Being Alive’, a service organization for those suffering with HIV/AIDS in West Hollywood, CA. This reaffirmed to her just how powerful this medicine can be for lifting the spirit and harmonizing the body, especially when in a delicate state of health.
In addition to acupuncture and herbs, she utilizes other eastern modalities (cupping, gua sha, dietetics, supplementation, meditation) that are integrated into the treatment and as home-care.
She enjoys working in conjunction with your primary care physician or specialist in order to provide the most comprehensive care for you.
When not in the office Kacie loves to practice yoga, read magic/mystery novels and drink French wine while eating or cooking food with friends. She is a big believer in treating your body like a temple 90% of the time and celebrating the delectable, indulgences of life the other 10%.
